When Ellis Miah signed his first production deal at age 11, he never imagined he’d be writing, producing and remixing hits for artists like Jennifer Lopez, Sia, Backstreet Boys, Christina Aguilera, Miley Cyrus, Big Freedia, Annie Lennox, Loleatta Holloway, Yoko Ono and Siedah Garrett, to name a few that make up his eclectic discography.
A native New Yorker, LA-based Miah’s gift for combining Pop, Soul, Hip-Hop and Dance has taken his career far beyond his wildest expectations, landing him on the Billboard charts 22 times, touring internationally, securing many national TV placements (ABC’s Primetime Nightline, Klondike, Nissan) and becoming a sought-after host. Interest in his remix work with former partners Orange Factory Music and Jody Den Broeder also ushered in his beginnings as a DJ, enlisting clients like Ace Hotel, Xbox, Lifetime, HBO and the BAFTAs.
Beyond the studio, Miah’s endeavors have also found him in front of the camera and microphone where he has worked as an actor, host, and public speaker. He has served as a judge, guest speaker and panelist of music events for Billboard Magazine, Musicians Institute, Winter Music Conference and RuPaul’s DragCon. In 2017, Gay Star News began utilizing Miah for correspondence assignments and live broadcasts as well as video segments for their website.
After writing and producing a majority of the songs on RuPaul’s Christmas Album, “Slay Belles,” (voted Best Christmas Album by Entertainment Weekly), World Of Wonder, the production company behind RuPaul’s DragRace, forged a relationship with Miah tapping him for video segments and hosting events.
What’s next on the horizon for Miah? Joining forces with the international phenomenon BTS. As a featured songwriter on the album, Map of the Soul: 7, Miah’s work is dropping Feb. 21.
